Allright, even though I wasn't actually planning on writing reviews on here, I just have to write about "The Human Centipede II - Full Sequence", and this post contains Spoiler, BE AWARE!
I promise, my "BE AWARE" has more writting skills in it, than the whole screenplay of Centipede 2. I figured with tonight being Halloween, it would be a good moment to have a look at the sequel, once again, written and directed by Tom Six. Sweet mother of common entertainment sense, Tom Six, this movie blows, well it doesn't even blow, it shouldn't even be considered as a movie, having such an uninspired and low-level screenplay behind it.
True, everyone can say how extremely bad a movie is, not having a movie himself screening on the big screens, but I certainly can make my point! Interested? Keep reading:
I'd be ashamed of myself, being that out of imagination but still pushing forward just to have a sequel out there. Seriously mister Six, basic concept of a fan recreating his favorite movie? Would definitely work in the Horror-Genre, but dear sir, please work on the basics and don't keep them as the full story.
I actually like the base of the main character. Martin, our lead played by Laurence R. Harvey, being mentaly challenged, abused by his father what started as early as Martin being a Baby (based on the foley flashbacks), finding fullfillment in a sick, twisted movie like The Human Centipede. Martin looks perfect, I truly love how he symbolizes the perfect nuttjob, the perfect little weirdo from next door, capable of killing his own mother without blinking. (Heads off to the casting departement, long time not seen such an awesome cast). I also like the fact, that he is still living with his mother in a little, lousy apartement and is working the nightshift at a parking garage.
I also like the way Laurence Harvey acts, he truly sells his character. But this, meaning Martin being intense and scary, is pretty much the only thing I enjoyed in this flick.
Seriously, Marting being able to kidnap people right off the park deck, shooting guns and spilling lots of blood in it, without having anyone notice, is pure, lame fantasy. To top it all, he even is able to leave a freaking kid in a car, for at least two days. But besides working in killers-heaven, where no one would ever notice anything, Martin is also a brilliant sharpshooter. If every bad guy, like Simon in Demolition Man, would shoot as good as Martin, most action movies would be over after five minutes, because the hero died of a bullet between his eyes. And to come to an end about Martin, did you recon how incredible strong this little guy is? I mean seriously, he is like one head shorter than the college kid, but he is able to carry even the king-kong bully from his apartement? Guess Hulk would be jealous.
Besides the obvious facts of lacking story around Martin, why is no one of the captives trying to escape? Seriously, you're being held in some sort of an old factory with lots and lots of sharp lumps around, wouldn't you try to cut the sticky tape? Or like work together with one of the other eleven, to bite those off? Na, why would you, everyone would just stick around on their belly and wait for the killer to come back (without even moving an inch)
So, people being dump in horror movies is nothing new, it's all about the shocks and scares in the movie? True that, I don't mind stupid people, if they are written well. Even the dumbest blonde in a common slasher like Texas, tries to freaking escape, mostly into some stupid meatfactory or something, but this is not the point. She is trying to escape, this is what everyone does, this is how people react in extreme situations, this makes a character more believable. My boredome starts right at the point when I see the captives the second time in the factory, still the same posistion, nobody tried anything. Those naked bodys are no humans to me, how could they if the writer was to freaking lazy to put any life in those characters?
Allright, so we don't have typical characters, or story, or tension to keep me watching this movie, BUT I DO HAVE GORE,TORTURE and lots of BLOOD?
BULLSHIT!
Seriously, all though speaking is minimized to a max of 5minutes in the whole movie, the final scene, when Martin has his twelve people together and he start working on them, there is nothing! No music, bad foleys and freaking annoying screams for at least 30minutes. I admit, I am pretty hardcore when it comes to watch gore and stuff, and I can see that a lot of people get the creeps when he smashes some teeth in with a hammer, and then goes fishing for them with his ugly little fingers. But even that scene gets boring, after we got shocked, it's more valuable to leave the shock in our mind and not showing it to us for another 10minutes (not talking only about the teeth, but the whole torture part). After to freaking much of torture, I almost fell asleep, but I figured there has to come something at the end, especially since I thought Part 1 was pretty ok-ish, but no. The lacking screenplay goes on, with running out of everything that has never been there, and when the credits role, I'm asking myself: what did I just watch?
And honestly, I can't really tell... The black'nd white took me off completely, if I try to remember what I just watched I have more pictures of "The cabinet of Dr. Caligari" in my mind than any Centipede stuff. Besides that, I'm still angry of all the lacking the movie has... Lack of intelligence, lack of conversations, lack of tension and even the lack of shock. After having 127 Hours showing everyone from parent to kid, how James Franco cut his own nerve in his arm, it's certainly not shocking enough for something extrem like Centipede.
I'd love to talk to Six himself and tell him how crappy this sequel is, but I don't really see this happening, that's why I hope that at least some of you folks out there share my oppinion on this.
Over and out, with something definitely NOT knightASTIC

It's a fairy tale, gone bad... Or isn't it?
First of all, this little review which actually is more to be a preview, contains spoiler. So if you haven't watched the Pilot of NBC's Grimm, I recommend that you leave right now! Seriously, leave dude... Oh, you think you can handle a few spoilers? Allright then, here we go.
The fuzz is there, David Greenwalt (executiv producer and writer of Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and X-Files) works together with Jim Kouf (producer/writer whose work includes Con Air, Angel, National Treasure and the cultural mix of Asian and Black Dude better known as Rush Hour) and Julie Herlocker in the role as co-producer, to bring NBC's new fantasy series Grimm.
I'm just done with the Pilot witch was actually pre-released by NBC (thanks for that) for people like you and me to get a sneak-peak of this new series. My first judgemental decision about it is:
good with potential in becomming another hit series like Buffy.
So, let's get into it. Episode 1 comes with a lot of informations of what to expect in the further development of Grimm:
First of all, three minutes in the episode, we allready have a dead body of a young female, torn into lots and lots of peaces. Well, giving the fact that "Sweet Dreams" might not be the best music choice for a teenage girl to go for a run, it's defnitely a kick-ass intro into a new fantasy series that is all about stories, especially stories which are part of most childrens dreams. Ok I got to admit, I still have dreams of the Red Ridding Hood, having this hot girl running in the forest with nothing on than a red hoodie and... Wait hold on, not talking bout this now... After the little introduction that episode 1 is clearly about the Red Riding Hood, we get introduced to Nick Burckhardt, played by David Giuntoli and his partner Hank Griffin played by Russel Hornsby. We immediately get that Nick Burckhardt found his great love and is about to marry her. Which gives us a good look at Nick's character, especially compared to Hank who allready had three failed marriages and doesn't mind a quick look at some random hottie from the streets. This gives us two quietly different main characters to start with. The calm but serious nice guy from your neighborhood and the crazy spirited wild guy from next door. It might be a far holded catch, but I do see some Rush Hour similarities, which is actually a good sign, especially for the humorous part of the series.
A little later into the episode, Nick gets a surprise visit by his aunt, which is basically his mother, cause his parents died when he was 12. Her being close to death, she has to reveal the family secret, that Nick isn't just a normal guy and that his parents didn't die in a car accident (oh gosh, that's like The Vampire Diaries), shortly followed by a little fight scene where the almost dead auntie shows off her fighting skills, which Nick doesn't seem to have since he simply shoots the atacker dead.
Anyway, the new family secret ruins Nicks proposal and he has suddenly other things in his mind than his wife-to-be, like reading all this old books in his aunties trailer, next to a closet full of medievil-weapons and stuff. Not only does this implement that this love story of Nick is going to be troubled, also is he told by his aunt that he has to leave his girlfriend, because his life will become anything else than save.
To round up our group of good people, Nick meets an Werewolf named Eddie Monroe played by Silas Weir Mitchell, who isn't into killing any more and is, with having his aunt in a coma, the only person who Nick can talk about him being a Grimm. So I guess this relationship is going to build, having Eddie becomming some sort of teacher for Nick.
The end reveals that Nicks police lieutenant isn't all good, or even better seems to be some sort of leader of the bad people, acompliced by the little hottie Hank couldn't get his eyes off at the beginning of the episode.
There we have a lot of different relationships to build the story around, we have a beautiful look to the series, we have people in the background who were able to pull off success series in the past, and we have some solid special effects for a TV Show by HIVE-FX. The first episode gave me a "oh this is kind of satisfying and nice to look at" feeling, which leads me to watch episode 2, as soon as aired. For all you guys out there, here is a four minutes trailer of GRIMM
I'm gladly looking forward to see Nicks life getting more complicated each episode, finding new friends, deepening friendships, kill some awesome characters comming out of the Grimm stories and some beautiful cinematography with an awesome "fairy tale mixed with urban lifestyle" feeling to it.
This series has potential, even if we've seen stuff like this before, to become one of knightASTICS "have-to-watch" series.
Interested? NBC officially airs Grimms premiere October 28th.

Get your guns, chainsaws, crowbars and disks to throw at'em, cause they are back!
Once upon a time in 1968, something beautiful started. Well at least in my twisted little mind, because the beginning of "Dead" hit theaters. For all of you, who don't know what I'm reffering to, you better write the next pharagraph down, because this is freaking essential!
Ok, I wasn't even alive in 1968, hell my parents probably didn't even know each other back then, the big battle of Khe Sanh in the Vietnam War ended April 8th, the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl and freaking Swaziland became independent. But being more important for this actual post, George A. Romero brought us "Night of the Living Dead"! The beginning of something special, something great and something I could not be without today: dumb ass corpses craving for brains and guts of people like you and me; Zombies!
Hey, hold your horses! Don't get all upset with me now! I agree, there were earlier versions of "Zombies" in movies, like "White Zombie" in 1932 or even in the expressionistic movie "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", which I actually was forced to watch during my studies, in 1919. Or if you are an extrem geek and you're like "Hell, there was Frankenstein in 1910, he's sort of a Zombie as well", guess I would even agree with you on that. BUT, todays movies about Zombies are, if you asked me and you do cause you're reading this, based on the "Dead"-Movies.
Allright now, let's leave the history channel and get back to my actual post. AMC started in 2010 something I truly adore and respect. Especially after the big slack period of good Zombie movies, they brought back something to the screen which got me from the pilot all the way to the freaking seven month or so of waiting between Season 1 and Season 2: a totally brilliant Zombie Apocalypse TV Series. Not only did the writers think twice before starting with some scribbles, the cinematography is beautiful, the cast solid and best of all, stupid-gut-driven and highly discusting to look at Zombies.
"The Walking Dead" had me after 5 minutes into the pilot, because Rick Grimes played by Andrew Lincoln put a bullet between a little girls eyes. Oh come on, give me a break. I'm not a freaking sadist. The little chick was a ugly Zombie! What would you have done? Seriously, that little basterd had it's teeth right there where my family jeweles are, no joking there, come close - catch a bullet! Anyway back to topic, spiced with different plots of struggle between a group of people, connected or not, fighting flesh eating zombies (which are truly amazing to look at) and still have some good sex scenes in the show, what else are you looking for?
So after only seven episodes in the first Season, having some characters missing who might return in Season two, more drama and way of a new journey ahead of them, "The Walking Dead" is comming back in two days, October 16th. Check out the offical trailer of Season two, and let me know what you think about it.
I'm defo gettin my "In case of a Zombie break-out"-Kit ready and jump right into Season 2. This is going to be freaking knightASTIC!

It's the grand opening
Ladies and gents,
It's not a bird, it's not a plane, and it's definitely not superman, it's basically knightASTIC!
knightASTIC is just another blog out there, is it? Yeah, you're probably right, I mean seriously, everyone is blogging something nowadays. So, why open another one?
First of all, I recently graduadet with an B.A in Media Engineering (clap clap) which also means, that I'm freaking jobless... U know, kinda funny how you're drinking all your brains out while you're studiyng, forgetting about everything out there in the real world and then u suddenly have a freaking paper with some titel on it, no money and u start spending your time blogging... What else would I do, like finding a job in a supermarket or something else, to put an end to my debts... Well...Na, that be totally overrated!
So adding a second to my huge amount of sparetime, I did not only study TV/Film and drinking, I gotta admit I've always been a total nerd about that stuff... Which means, besides the little technical knowledge I managed to keep in my smushed brain, I also watch everything there is out there, especially now, sparetime and stuff, u know...
So is knightASTIC just another Review and Preview-Blog for movies? Na, there are so many really good ones out there, I wouldn't dare messing with them, just like www.movie-moron.com, love those guys, u should defintely check them out if you don't know them yet!
So, what else am I going to do on here? I'll focus more on one of my biggest addictions... Series!
Just to prove that I am a little addict, here's my actual list of TV-Shows I watched, am watching...:
So, knightASTIC isn't just about my opinion on Shows, it's more about u guys kicking my ass or agreeing with me.. Why? Since I recommended a lot of Shows to my friends, and they either like or dissliked it, or someone told me about a new show and I agreed on it, or not, I'm hoping to build a "defo worth watching" list, with good feedbacks and critisicm on it. Not sure how many folks will participate, I might even end up as a complete nutjob, talking to myself, shutting off the world outside and live happily ever after with my new blog, or on the other hand, I might just get freaking annoyed of hearing my own BS and send this Blog with a nice red pill back to reality!
Well, you see this is starting to become awefully long, who has time nowadays to read all that, especially if there is nothing esential in it? Know what, as far as I'm concerned, U JUST DID, and u might come back... Or not, but if you don't, you will know after reading this, that there is definitely something missing now in your life! Isn't this just knightASTIC?
See you soon
